Having Eyes to See

December 23rd, 2008

We begin our spiritual development by taking ourselves apart and putting ourselves back together again the right way. We review many observations and conclusions made in childhood and revise our conclusions based on new evidence.

In a small town in the Midwest, near the turn of the century, a boy named Robert grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. He wore hand-me-down. His parents couldn’t afford to get him a haircut. The other kids teased him. People whispered that his father was irresponsible and had too many kids.

Robert wore the shame of his father’s poverty and yet he was very spiritual. One day a revival came to town. His grandparents took him to the revival tent where many people heard Jesus call them personally for. The energy at a revival is “contagious”. After a few people get the ball rolling, the rest will join in. Sometimes it’s a genuine calling but sometimes it’s just so as not to be left out.

Back at the revival, people were getting the call, but that night nothing happened to the Robert. Rather than going along with the crowd, Robert did not join the throng of people who came forward for baptism because he did not feel Jesus call him inside.

This would be a matter-of-fact story except for one thing. On the way home, Robert, who genuinely believed that something authentic had happened to all others in the revival tent, came to the conclusion that Jesus had not called him because he was not worthy.

Robert didn’t check out his “thesis” with anyone any more than most children do and for the rest of his life, he felt rejected and shamed. Even Jesus did not want a poor boy.

There is a happy ending to this story. Robert grew up to be a well known and successful psychologist in La Mesa, California. He had a great professional and personal life, a very long and happy marriage. Robert was well to do and was respected in the community. He often spoke at the big Unity (metaphysical) Church in San Diego. I am not telling you a story he has not told publicly many times. Robert went through a healing process to understand that as a boy he had added 2 + 2 and gotten nonsense.

As children, we put the world together as best we can. As adults, it is our gift to ourself to return as an adult to some of our bigger decisions and connect the dots again properly if necessary.

I would like to give you another example that is a little more sophisticated. It has to do with the way being unconscious can keep us from seeing things plainly before our eyes.

In the 40s and 50s, it was considered glamorous or “manly”, to smoke. I know I could hardly wait! Louis Armstrong, King George VI of England, Betty Davis, Clark Gable, Babe Ruth and Humphrey Bogart all smoked heavily in public and in their films. They died in their mid-fifties of smoke related diseases such as lung cancer and emphysema. In a horrifying and ironic twist of fate, even Wayne McLaren, the celebrated “Marlborough Man”, died of lung cancer at the very early age of 51. Smoking was considered glamorous and I planned to start as soon as I could.

Like the boy Robert, I did not have eyes to see. I looked at Humphrey Bogart and was told how sophisticated he was rather than noticing what was plainly before my eyes. “This man is a walking cadaver.”

A new trend in consciousness raising about smoking began in 1968 when William Talman made a shocking public service announcement for the American Cancer Society. Talman had played Hamilton Burger on the tv series, Perry Mason. He was dying of lung cancer at 53, leaving behind a wife and 6 young children. According to Barron H. Lerner, a Columbia University professor [Globe Newspaper Company], Talman’s message won praise among viewers, many of whom vividly remembered it for decades and credited it for getting them to quite smoking.

Yul Brynner, who died of lung cancer in 1985, helped reverse the glamour image in the late 80s with a chilling PSA which began, “Now that I’m dead … please don’t smoke.”

If you’re wondering what this has to do with spiritual development and seeing things clearly, let me continue.

If you didn’t go through the process of consciousness raising with cigarette smoking, here’s an example from the 21st Century. The same thing is occurring with obesity. The same long, time consuming process has begun. This time you can be a part of it, waking up slowly to what is before your very eyes.

I visited Russia this summer and people in Russia are not overweight. I really noticed it when I got back home. I have a friend from India who moved here because he wanted to be in a country where “even the poor people are fat.”

Obesity has reached epidemic proportions in the United States. Fast food chains are being sued to hold them accountable for selling food high in fat, salt, sugar, and cholesterol content, “despite studies showing a link between consuming such foods and obesity, diabetes, coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, strokes, elevated cholesterol intake, related cancers, and other health problems” and despite a recent published finding by the Surgeon General that obesity costs Americans almost as much money per year as cigarette related illnesses. John F. Banzhaf III (http://banzhaf.net) is the nationally-known professor and practitioner of public interest law who is bringing these legal actions to the public forum.

The Chicago Tribune reports that suits initiated by Banzhof’s students have already forced McDonald’s to apologize for “duping” people, and pay out over $12 million in damages. McDonald’s claimed their French fries were “vegetarian”. [They are fried in animal fat.]

According to ABCNEWS Internet Ventures, “a second law suit filed by a disgruntled customer in Florida, outraged when she learned that a so-called low-calorie and low-fat ice cream had at least three times the calories and fat she was led to believe, has likewise been granted class action status by a judge, and could involve one million customers.”

Banzhof comments, “We know from tobacco litigation that initial suits have real difficulties because the public has real problems accepting new ideas and new concepts. It took us many years to get us to the point of educating juries about tobacco, so now they are [learning about the fast food industry].”

In one of the finer uses of the evolutionary nature of law, Americans are being shown — until they can “see” for themselves — the connection between junk food and poor health. We are also being shown the correlation between weight gain and disastrous health consequences which we know intuitively. Obesity, watching television and eating junk food and go together like Whoppers and SuperSizeItPlease.

Connecting the dots can help us to correct misapprehensions from childhood and see the world around us with new eyes. It is these new eyes of seeing that are both the goal and the process of enlightenment.

REFLECTIONS: WHAT IS TO COME?

December 23rd, 2008

Welcome to December. The home stretch of a year which
has shown us that terrible things do happen to good
people just minding their own business. At the same
time, we’ve seen that good common people can become
better than anyone could have believed when the
mission they find themselves in becomes greater than
all their days combined.

As years end, it’s often a time to look back on what
has happened. We look at where we are, what we have
and where we were 12 months ago. We may think about
what we wanted to accomplish during the year but just
never got around to. We see all the daily
interruptions that got in our way of doing something
we would rather have done.

We look around at others who seem happy and we think
about how much we “wish” we could be like them or do
what they are doing. But we just “know” we don’t have
time to do it. Either that, or our life-long
circumstances have made it impossible for us to come
even close to doing something as “wonderful” as that.

Looking back is all too easy to see where we fell
short, things we should have done differently, things
we should not have wasted the time or money on. Boy,
if we only had a dime for every time each of us felt
that way in our lives, there would be so many more
millionaires in this world.

Unlike many sports where you get an intermission
between quarters or can call a timeout as in football,
life doesn’t work that way. It’s more of an auto race
or a marathon. It doesn’t just stop at certain points
giving us a chance to rest, the clock is always
ticking and we are always moving forward (if we want
to, or not).

In a race, we look back to compare ourselves to
everyone else. In life, we look back to compare
ourselves with, well… ourselves. Sure, we may not as
wealthy as John Doe nor as happy in our career as Jane
Doe seems to be, but they don’t matter when it comes
to our own ideas and hopes for ourselves.

That’s why each year when the pages on the calendar
become fewer, and it’s time to get a new one, we begin
to think ahead of what we can accomplish.

When we get that new calendar, WE have the chance of
filling in the empty spaces with our own plans, our
own things to do, our own moments to live for. You
know, it’s funny. We look back at our lives and wonder
just where all the time went. Yet, we look forward to
something and feel it is just so far away, and wonder
if it will ever get here. Well Virginia, yes, it will
get here.

It’s like the story of two friends talking. One saying
that he would like to change his whole career and
become a teacher. But says it will take 4 whole years
of classes and studying and tests and grades before he
finishes, and he’ll be four years older by time he is
done. His friend asks him just one simple question.
“How much older will you be in 4 years if you don’t go
back to school to gain that piece of paper that says
you can teach?

Time will go by no matter if we like it or not. So
this time of year, somewhat of a pre-amble to the New
Years resolutions, is our chance to adjust our game
plan. Our chance to peek back to see where we have
come and how far we are willing to go. It is our
chance to get out next year’s calendar and fill in the
blanks so we can have a “better-than-the-year-before”
experience.

Remote Viewing … What is it anyway?

December 23rd, 2008

Ever since I began posting information about remote viewing on my site, more and more people have been asking about what it is and how it works. At first, I thought this would be a simple topic to write; however, I began to realize that there is a lot of information presented that might not be easy to grasp. In this article, I am going to provide a simple overview of remote viewing and, generally, how it works. This way, readers will have a cursory knowledge of this interesting technology as a basis for further reading and research.

— What is remote viewing? —

People tend to confuse remote viewing with psychic abilities. Indeed, they do seem similar in their results, but remote viewing is more of a technique or technology than it is a mystic science. In reality, there is nothing mystical or mysterious about remote viewing at all.

Remote viewing is purported to have begun during the Cold War when the CIA and military decided to use this technology for remote spying. However, through research, it has been found that forms of remote viewing have been used for centuries by various civilizations.

Remote viewing allows us to look at other places and times without ever leaving our seat. It allows us to examine information and situations that we would otherwise never gain access to in our lives. Everyone can do it as, at one time, we were all able to use it. However, over time, this ability was pushed aside through religion, society, and by blocking our own creative subconscious. By opening that doorway again, you can use remote viewing for a multitude of applications including the enhancement of your own life.

— The Universal Library —

Consider the human brain. Indeed, as small as it is there is no conceivable way that we can store all of the information that we know in there and expect it to function efficiently. Additionally, since we all have the same brain, where do spurts of genius and inspiration come from? Finally, with the stories of people who have had half of their brains removed due to illness or trauma, how can they still function as normal human beings?

The theory is that the brain is not only a control center for the human body, but it is also a massive receptor and connection to the Universal Library, also known as “The Matrix.” Every piece of information every known, and that will be known, exists in this library and is available to us at any time that we want to reach out and grasp it.

Everything and everyone has a place, or a coordinate, within this matrix. Essentially, anything that uniquely identifies a piece of information in the Universe can be used to locate and access that information and its relationships — including our individual selves.

— Where did that come from? —

As we grow, we eventually fall to the beliefs that society and religion places on us. Our subconscious becomes that place where “evil lurks” and where we toss our old garbage that didn’t work for our conscious mind. Basically, our ability to feel and see outside of ourselves diminishes and falls prey to the “collective conscious.” This is where we all exist in our grounded, every day world. However, there is also a “collective subconscious” in which we participate and yet, we don’t even know exists.
Have you ever wondered where an idea came from? Albert Einstein, Steven Hawkings, and many of the intellects of our day and age in science, business, and entertainment all get these “flashes of genius.” It is not so much that anyone is “born a genius.” It is the fact that they are born with the ability, and belief, to access information that is available to us all. Consider idiot savants and autistic children. How can they do what they do? Where are they if they are not here?

All of our true intellect comes from our subconscious. Consider a situation where we have no creative subconscious. In such a case, everything we have ever done is everything we will ever do. We would become “stuck” because we would have no way to change directions by applying new ways of thinking to old ways of doing. It is the creative subconscious that allows us to devise new and better ways of doing things and our conscious mind takes that new information and enhances our reality accordingly.

— Analytic Overlay —

One of the more interesting abilities required of a remote viewer is the use of all senses: sight, smell, touch, taste, and hearing. Another trait that is required of the remote viewer is the ability to accept information for what it is and focus the subconscious so that the conscious mind doesn’t interfere with incoming data. In both cases, this is a difficult task as we are raised to allow our conscious mind to filter out unnecessary information acquired by our senses and only use the information that applies to our current situation and our existing beliefs and knowledge. This is known as “analytic overlay.” An analytic overlay is the closest logical thing your brain knows based on the attributes of the new idea or information.

For example, analytic overlay occurs when we’ve acquired a considerable amount of information during a remote viewing session and our conscious mind applies this information to something we already know. For instance, four or five pieces of information might be characteristics of a particular item that your logical mind can identify. In this way, your brain turns the target into something that is familiar, thus misguiding your session.

— Time Stands Still —

In the Universe, time has no meaning. The past, present, and the future have already occurred. This situation allows a remote viewer to move around in what we perceive as time to view things that have happened, are happening, and will happen in our future. It is no mystery that everything that will happen, has already happened.

But, how can you change your future? Just as every action you performed in the past establishes your present, every action you perform now places events and situations in motion for the future. As you live and breath today, tomorrow’s environment begins to take shape to create a ripple effect for centuries to come. By knowing what is to come, you can change the course of present day events to rebuild your future.

Consider that you place a coffee cup, filled with coffee, precariously on the edge of a table. Yet, your gut tells you that someone will knock it off the table. If you leave it there, the future is set and indeed, someone will knock it off the table. However, if you move the cup to some location closer to the middle of the table, the future is now rebuilt and a new future exists for that cup of coffee. Of course, this is a simple example, yet examine it on a broader scale as it applies to human events. What if?

— What’s over there? —

Just as we can slide around in time, we can also slide around by location. By picking a location with a coordinate in the matrix, we can see events and people at any place, anywhere, and any time. It is an amazing thing to be able to do!

As one example, I took an address from the phone book and used it as a coordinate to describe the structure. I got it right down to a few words on the side of one of the buildings. Words are difficult to read; however, it was more of just a flash. When we visited the location, I was amazed that the general structure I drew was the one at the location.

During a remote viewing session, you can visit any location you desire simply by access the target within the matrix. All of the information is there, all you have to do is open your subconscious mind and access it.

— How does it all work? —

Put in simplest terms, the purpose of performing a remote viewing session is to distract your conscious mind long enough to allow subconscious information to come into your mental processes. This information comes from the Universal Library. You then build a progressive set of data, that describes this subconscious stream, by writing your impressions on paper.

To distract your conscious mind, you apply a “protocol.” There are numerous protocols available today that are used by different organizations. Such protocols include Coordinate RV (CRV), Extended RV (ERV), Scientific RV (SRV), Technical RV (TRV), and others. However, the results are similar in that they all provide a process for acquiring data from the Universal Library.

Actually, you never really see anything as a whole, except on some rare occasions when a blur or a flash might occur. Information comes in as bits and pieces through your senses. Believe it or not, your five sense work seamlessly with your subconscious and allow you to assemble information based on what they perceive. During a session, you only have to concentrate on your target coordinate and never worry about how the data comes in as your body is already pre-wired to function with this natural ability.

— What’s next? —

Remote viewing is not about religion or politics, it is merely a tool that can be used to experience some pretty remarkable travels. Remote viewing is an extremely unusual hobby, yet it provides much in the way of satisfaction and practical applications. It is not exactly something that is accepted by the mainstream; however, it does pique the interest and curiosity of many individuals who would have otherwise smirked at such a possibility.

You can use remote viewing for a multitude of applications; however, one of the more selfish and personally useful applications is to help you clearly direct your life. By performing sessions on your own, it can open your eyes and pull your creative mind out of the muck and mire that has been piled on it during life’s journeys. Of course, I would suggest taking introductory courses with a trained professional to learn the various techniques and protocols; however, through practice, you can become quite proficient at this technology.

I could go on about this topic, but the idea was just to provide a quick overview. There are numerous books available from some of the leaders in this arena. Some of the better one’s I’ve read were by Lynne McTaggart, Lyn Buchanan, and Joe McMoneagle. Additionally, a large amount of information can be found on the web at PJ Gaenir’s Firedocs Collections (http://www.firedocs.com/).

Good luck and I’ll see ya out there!

Tips to Get Out of Shopping

December 22nd, 2008

Most people just love to shop, but every once in a while there are a few that just don’t like it. Those who don’t like to shop usually have an experience growing up that made them that way. Their grandmothers or mothers spending just an awful amount of hours at the mall while they just drag their feet around wondering why they are there. The grandma or mom is having the time of their life shopping, while the kid is there wishing and hoping they could be somewhere else. Next time you are at the mall these kids are quite easy to point out, and if you don’t like shopping, you can relate to them at a very personal level.

So, if you are older and you don’t like shopping, you can now shop online. This is so great. No waiting around, no lines, no other people to deal with. If there are people in your life who love to shop, send them to the mall and let them know that you don’t want to go and that you have all of your shopping handled because you can order everything that you need online. It is not a big deal. If you have kids and they don’t like to shop, teach them how to shop online, show them that they don’t have to go to the stores. Shopping at the mall is great exercise, so if you don’t go to the mall, be sure to take the acceletrim weight loss supplement and get some other form of exercise in. So, online shopping is great for those who don’t like malls and have been left with a sour taste in their mouth from early child hood nightmare shopping experiences.

picks of the day: Wales England

December 16th, 2008

Wales-England

Short journey to the Millennium Stadium, after a shocking defeat in Denmark, but the big difference, that this match counts!

Eriksson’s squad has a very good record, a win perhaps means the leading position in the group, where Poland is two points ahead, but played one match more.

Wales has only two draws in the group - and 4 defeats.

England will play 4-5-1 formation in Cardiff, Owen (already Newcastle) is suspended, so Rooney will be the classical striker. But look at this midfield: Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard…

The possible lineups:

Wales: Coyne, Duffy, Page, Gabbidon, Partridge, Ricketts, Davies, Robinson, Fletcher, Giggs, Hartson.

England: Robinson, Young, Ferdinand, Carragher, Ashley Cole, Wright-Phillips, Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, Joe Cole, Rooney.

Not suprisingly,

my bet is AWAY win

Outdoor Decks - Understanding Seven Elements Of Good Deck De

December 15th, 2008

You’re all comfortable in your favorite lounge chair, reading your latest novel with a cool beverage nearby… the aroma of your favorite BBQ drifting from the grill teases everyone… catching a few rays of sunshine never felt better. Warm weather calls us outdoors, and what better place to enjoy life than your deck!

As an extension of your home, a deck can provide an attractive outdoor area that you can enjoy every time the weather allows. Whether just hanging out and lounging, entertaining or playing with your kids or pet, a well-designed deck can be a favorite part of your home. Understanding important deck design and planning considerations will help your deck become the successful project that you want.

Here are some considerations for having the deck that’s right for your home:

1. Where should your deck be placed? A characteristic of good deck design is when the deck can merge into the environment of your backyard without being obtrusive and highly visible. If you’re fortunate and have a great view, take advantage of the view and locate the deck to enjoy it. If you don’t have a spectacular view, perhaps your deck could be located near a beautiful garden tree. Maybe you want your deck in a shady area or with a sunny southern exposure. Is privacy from neighbors an issue? Are you near a busy street and is noise a problem? If so and if your space is limited, consider the use of shrubbery, walls or fences to resolve the problem.

2. Will the deck be connected to your home? If you are considering placing your deck near the living room, doing so could be a problem if foot traffic will soil your carpets and disrupt anyone that is watching TV or talking. Placing the deck next to the kitchen will make it easier to move food and dishes back and forth when eating outside on the deck. Use sliding glass doors to make the outdoors look even more inviting from the kitchen. Would having two doors connecting different rooms to the deck be a possibility? Having two doors accessing the deck will be the most efficient and best solution for easy foot traffic flow.

3. Do you want a destination deck? The deck doesn’t have to be built connected to your house. It can be a place to go all by itself. If your backyard extends to woods, maybe locating the deck near some beautiful trees makes sense. If your property fronts a pond or lake, what about locating your deck so that it reaches out into the water? If you have a flat roof, say, over a garage - what about a roof deck? The possibilities are endless!

4. How will your deck be used? If your property is small and you’re not expecting to entertain large groups, you likely don’t need a huge deck. Your deck should maintain a reasonable scale between your home and property size, size of your family and the deck size. You should not have a small house, small property and a very large deck. The elements should be proportional. You should not build a small deck if you have a large house on large property.

5. Are you considering dividing your deck into different areas? For example, you could have an area for lounging, sunning or reading and another area for dining, entertaining and cooking. Involve your family and make a list of the activities you would like to have. You may want to include a section for children’s games and playtime. Have a good idea of how traffic will flow on the deck and in your backyard. Understand how family, friends and pets will be walking from the front of the house to the backyard, from the garage to the kitchen, from the greenhouse or tool shed to the garden and so on. If you are going to have a deck area for relaxation, you don’t want all the traffic coming out of the house to merge into this area.

6. What shape deck is best for your home? When designing your deck, consider using a variety of shapes. Keep it simple, but don’t be afraid to add an angle or two to the deck design. For example, add curves or diagonal lines to connect two rectangular or square spaces for the deck plan. Connect the different sections with paths, paving surfaces, stairways, arbors, gazebos or perhaps a water pond.

Consider using planters or flower pots with attractive plants, overhead structures or trellises, benches and steps to create a transition between areas in the backyard. If you’re not a good gardener, you can still create a low maintenance landscape by using shrubs and other easy-to-care-for plants. Formal landscapes are more symmetrical and use geometric patterns and straight lines. Informal styles use more asymmetry and more curves - wooden decks are often asscociated with an informal setting.

7. Do you hire a deck designer, do you use deck plans or do you design the deck yourself? Consider using deck plans if you can find plans that you like. One of the best ways to simplify deck building is to use deck plans that have been successfully built before. If you need to make some modifications to suit your needs and home, doing so will likely be cheaper than creating deck plans from the beginning. Unless you live in a very rural area, you will need to check with your local building department to find out what requirements and restrictions exist in your area, especially if you are designing and building the deck yourself. If you’re not comfortable with the process, consider hiring a professional deck designer and a deck contractor.

Done correctly, building a deck will provide countless hours of enjoyment for you, your family and friends as well as increase the value of your home. Good Baby Bath Tubs

December 14th, 2008

When you are up to the takes of bathing the, finding the right position to have the baby in can be a little problematic. Luckily, there are a few contraptions that might help you out. There are Contoured little bath pads and sponges. These pads will cradle the baby and keep their head tilted and up able the water. The nice thing about this is that it just sits and the bottom of the tub and will absorb the water to keep the baby warm. Then there are baby bath seats. These are just little chairs that suction cup to the bottom of the tub. But is important that you hold the baby up, the chair can be slippery and you don’t want the baby to slip out. There are also little baby bath tubs, with a sling attachment. I personally like this kind the best. The sling is great for bathing the new burns, and will keep them from slipping them around. And when the baby get bigger, it just becomes a little tub. Some models have hole in them that lets the old water drain out and new water flowing in. And some even have thermometers built in. Then there is the EZ Bather. Is like a little lawn chair in the water. Just a frame with a net on it. You can put this anywhere and is very portable and inexpensive.

Notable Thoughts on Positive Living

December 14th, 2008

I went online — and what do I see? A news report scrolled across my screen: “Murder by Mother’s Milk,” compliments of the Associated Press. I try to keep up with the news as it informs me of my environment, the world around me and society in general. But when I look at a television or monitor screen and read horrific reports such as this one, I have to wonder what this world is coming to.

Purportedly, a 31-year old woman (who, by the way has 5 children) was an apparent methamphetamine addict and was breastfeeding her 3-month old son. According to the report, the fatal drug passed through the mother’s breastmilk and caused the death of her tiny infant. Although the child can no longer be brought back to life, the mother was indicted and charged with second-degree murder. She could receive up to life imprisonment.

So, are you angry yet? What type of world are we living in when supposed, responsible parents are so high on drugs that they “accidentally” poison their children with methamphetamine?

Then I hear reports of a bride-to-be being buried today because of radical fundamentalists who get kicks out of bombing innocent people.

Of course, the epitome of news reports is to make our modern, “civilized” public aware of current events, people, places and things. But does it really? If awareness is being raised to the potpourri of countless, violent reports then what has transpired? Yes — more violence.

Like a flashing billboard of red lights, all the warning signs come barreling into our faces. However, how often are these ominous “news stories” going to be taken to heart? We sit back, view news reports, eat our dinners, do our chores, sit back down and watch a movie. No more talk about the 3-month old who was murdered. No more talk about the innocent young bride being bombed. Suddenly, the rose-colored glasses get put across our eyes and we’ve become desensitized to all the negative in our world.

We, as a people, coexist with modern neandrathal-like maniacs who care of nothing but self-satisfaction and egotistically charged, radical perspectives of life. A matter of fact, these nomenclatural fiends of society seem to marvel at their newfound notoriety by playing to society’s camera view.

“I was abused as a child…” “I didn’t have a Nintendo…” “My religion is better than your religion…” “I couldn’t help myself because nobody cared enough about me…” I’ve heard just about enough excuses for irresponsible, childish and violent behavior. It’s about time society take note of these news reports and start proacting.

People, in general, have been brainwashed by alleged leaders of independent cultures, schools, and even parents to think that whatever they do will ultimately be an excuse to do as they please. I’m here to tell you that life is not a bowl of peaches and cream. Life is not easy. Nothing gets handed to people on a silver platter without hard work, dedication and willpower.

If individuals want positive things to happen in their lives, they have to reinforce positive behavior and attitude. I am sick and tired of hearing people say the reason they act the way they do is because they had a hard life. Get over it. Jesus had a hard life and look where He is today.

I look at people like Susan Smith. This woman takes the cake; and is the poster child for what is wrong with society. Here is a young woman who one day decides that she would intentionally trade her children’s lives in on a man who didn’t even want her. She idly stood by and watched her helpless tots drown in a murky lake, then phoned police to say a “black man” had stolen her vehicle and abducted her boys. Sickening. “…but she was sexually abused as child…” screamed her defense attorneys. Amazing what antics defense attorneys can squeeze out in a courtroom. Yet it gets better. Now — if you’d like, you can personally contact Ms. Smith and have a long-distance relationship over the Internet with her.

So, here are a few pointers to positivie living that I’ve come up with — in my own opinion, of course:

  • If you’ve had a terrible life and can’t deal with it — get counseling for God’s sakes. You are your own person and need to take control of your actions by being in charge.
  • If you think your religion is better than the next persons, don’t bomb innocent communities. This is not a positive way to prove your point.
  • If you don’t use drugs, don’t start using them. If you do use drugs, it’s time for you to check into a clinic and get rehabilitated. Many are free and provide financial assistance to those who cannot afford to go to one.
  • If you decide that you no longer wish to raise your children, please contact social services and get some help. You’ve brought life into this world and that life is your responsibility. Period.
  • If everything in life has gone wrong and you’re sitting there wondering if life is worth living, think of this: somewhere in the world — children are literally starving to death; somewhere in this world, a person is dying from some god-awful disease; somewhere in this world, people don’t have luxuries like clean, running water and a roof over their heads; somewhere in this world, there is another person going through the same thing you are experiencing.

Positivity is the key to all good things. Always focus your intentions on the overall good of humanity. Promote peace and live peacefully. Accentuate the positive, as positive energy attracts positive energy. Leave this world a better place than in which you came. In closing, I leave you with a quote from an incredible human being — Mohandas Gandhi wrote, “Nonviolence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man.”
