IT’S NUTTY NOVEMBER!

Or, in other words, “National Nudnik Month”!

November is the 11th month of the calendar year, so what else is
new?

Well for one thing this month features a good many things for
knuckleheads, ninny-hammers, and nudniks to engage in since
their attention spans are usually shorter than the bat of an eye
or a flash in the pan.

They can all take heart from the fact that this month is full of
merry-making for morose mavens and munchkins…after all it’s
only one month away from the biggest gift-giving gala of the
year!

So without further adieu, here’s what’s in store for you to do
to celebrate odd occasions and weird events this month.

November 1 - National Who’s Been Eating My Porridge Day
(For Goldilocks and the three bear types who can’t get their
fill of cream of wheat, oatmeal or bran man!)

November 2 - Are you sure that’s the Road to San Jose
Day? (In honor of all those who despise analogue devices
such as maps, and would rather use their handy-dandy new digital
high-flying GPS gizmo that fits in your pocket, talks, and comes
in 45 colors!)

November 3 - National Grin & Bare It Day (Everyone needs
a lack practice in the art of stoicism and steadfastness
…after all “suck it up” is better than “spit it out”!)

November 4 - Scorpio Awareness Day (Time to spot those
fixed water signs who rule the world of magical matters like
taboos and voodoo…you know the intractable, inscrutable,
impenetrable secretive souls who have things good things going
for them… they have magnetic personalities, are unshockable,
and understand failure…yee haw!)

November 5 - Guy Fawkes Day (The second time this year
you can officially light firecrackers under the seat of any
nosey nemesis or naughty nudnik naturally).

November 6 - One Toy That Should Never Have Been Invented
Day (Okay now it’s time to figure out what tawdry toy you’ve
encountered sometime during your stay on planet earth should
quite frankly never have seen the light of day).

November 7 - Worst Workplace Décor Day (Time to nominate
someone for this prestigious award in your office - prize a
weekend pass to the nearest petting zoo for some pointers from a
bunch of beasts that probably couldn’t care less!)

November 8 - National Tom Thumb Day (So if you were six
inches tall for a day, exactly what would you do besides
twiddling your thumbs for twenty-four hours?)

November 9 - National Animal Crackers Day (A pleasant
alternative to “Girl Guide Cookies” …but everyone must also
share the name of the animal with whom they would share the rest
of their life with if that’s the way the cookie crumbled!)

November 10 - National Ho-Hum Body Part Day (For those
who haven’t a clue what biology’s all about but can tell you all
about the least erotic part of the human body!)

November 11 - Thirteenth Month of the Year Day
(Time-starved individuals should use their imagination to come
up with a name for the thirteenth month, not to mention where
it’s supposed to be inserted in the present calendar if you
please!)

November 12 - National Pick Your Favorite Movie Prop Day
(Is it the Wizard of Oz’s wig, a seagull from “The Birds”, a
shower-stall from an Anthony Perkins thriller?)

November 13 - Gift of Magic Day (Okay you’ve got the
gorgeous-looking genie in a bottle…and he/she pops out and
grants you three wishes…what are they and why?)

November 14 - Nicest Compliment You’ve Ever Received Day
(It’s one of those rare occasions, but check your memory bank
and figure out the nicest compliment you’ve ever received in
your entire life…that you don’t mind sharing with the rest of
humanity).

November 15 - License Plate Appreciation Day (The
government has just informed you that you could have your
license plate say anything at all…what would it be?)

November 16 - Rename Your Family Day (To meet the growing
demand folks who want a new lease on life…it’s now time to
rename each family member…good luck!)

November 17 - Dig That Derriere Day (Forget the
botox…if a fairy godmother dropped by and told you that you
could have anyone else’s gluteus maximus, posh posterior or
tight buns…just who would you choose?)

November 18 - National Lazybones Awareness Day (Okay it’s
payback time for the laziest person you know…if you could pick
one thing that this person would have to do for the rest of
their life - who would it be and what would this individual have
to do?)

November 19 - Three Least Favorite Words Day (This will
definitely appeal to blabbers, blatherskites, and motor-mouths
who will never be short on words!)

November 20 - Goosebump Awareness Day (So pray tell, what
gives you Goosebumps? …and how come no one ever has Goosebumps
on the face?)

November 21 - Computer Modification Day (The folks who
manufacture the best thing since sliced bread come to ask you
what one thing you’d like to see changed on your computer…what
might it be … now think hard all you dweebs and dingbats!)

November 22 - Hardest Position to Play in Sports Day (For
all the sports jocks, couch potatoes, and sideline
critics…what would you say is the most difficult one, c’mon…)

November 22 - Nifty New Appliance Day (Advertisers are
having a field day with a brand new appliance…what’s it called
and exactly what will it do to make life easier?)

November 23 - National Jockstrap Collectible Day (Your
favorite sports league has just announced a new fantasy prize
for an upcoming contest…the jockstrap of your favorite fantasy
player…hmmm…who might that be and in what sport?)

November 24 - Murfle Appreciation Day (Time to see who
has the most freckles among your family, friends, and faithful
colleagues at work).

November 25 - National Jeepers Creepers Day (What’s the
biggest surprise you’ve ever had in your life? …Sponsored by
the “Holy Cow Cooperative” & “The Holy Smoke Alliance of Spirits
and Other Figments of Your Imagination”)

November 26 - Look Before You Leap Day (In honor of all
those who took a flying leap from the frying pan into the fire
…just to get a taste of “S’mores”!)

November 27 - National Hold Your Horses Day (Celebrates
all those faithful plodders who are always chomping at the bit,
but never quite make it out of the stall to win a race)

November 28 - National Slam-Dunk Contest Day (Time to try
out your waste-paper basket skills - there are no prizes just
the title “The Hottest Damn Slam-Dunker”!)

November 29 - World Finger Snapping Day (In honor of fuss
budgets and slow restaurant food service …now you get to
practice it all day long!!!)

November 30 - Tickle Me Pink Day (A social networking day
of course!)

Dolphins love to be in bliss. they have a wonderful capacity
for sweeping peoples’ hearts into places of newly experienced
joy. I thought I was a person who felt a lot of joy all my life.
However, once I experienced a swim with dolphins, bliss took on
a whole new meaning. From my encounters with dolphins I have
learned that the deepest joy can fill me from the tip of my toes
to the top of my head and deep in my heart. This kind of joy is
unconditional. It is something I bring to situations rather than
something I try to receive from situations.

Here’s an analogy. If you don’t give yourself water for a long
time and then wring out a towel day after day in search of
water, you get little. If you drink big cups each day, your body
feels hydrated and full of water all the time. So you don’t need
to drain your water form a source that is dry. Often happiness
that is pulled form situations and circumstances is quick to
come and go. Happiness that is alive in the center of our heart
can be a consistent source of fulfillment. The dolphins have an
ability to remember this happiness at any time and can teach you
how. It is your nature to be eternally happy and you may have
forgotten. The dolphins can guide you back to this ability.

A dolphin does not teach through an intellectual conversation.
During a swim with dolphins, dolphins send out energetic
messages of joy that people feel. To prepare yourself to
receive, take a few moments in silence each day. Focus on your
heart and ask that it be an open vehicle for the deep joy
available. Some of you will feel the joy immediately and
recognize that the greatest joy does come from within.

If you do not feel this joy, here is another approach. We all
learn differently so try this way instead. Think about a time
during which you were very happy. Send a message of gratitude
from your heart out into the world about that time. Notice how
you feel now. Notice that you are feeling happy because of your
focus rather than any current circumstances. gratitude and focus
creates joy.

One of my retreat groups who attended a swim with dolphins
greeted the dolphins with great enthusiasm and many expectations
about the interactions they would have. They chased the
dolphins. The dolphins swam away. If you wanted to make a human
friend would run down the street, chase him or her and expect
that person do do as you imagined? I don’t know anyone who wants
to be aggressively chased. I asked the group to practice
communicating with a horse on land that afternoon. Once, again
the group began to chase, opening the horse’s gate and going
after the horse when the horse clearly wished to eat in peace. I
asked the group to leave the horse alone and redirect their
attention. I suggested that the group focus on their hearts and
on enjoying each other. They did. They became happy and Decor
the horse approached them lovingly.

When I asked the dolphin swim seminar group to practice their
communication skills with the horse, one woman began to tell
Decor a long story and Decor bobbed his head and snorted,. The
story was being told from the head. I asked the woman to be
present with her heart, and simply tell Decor what her story of
now was. She realized her story of now was simple: “I feel
gratitude. “As she spoke form her heart to Decor’s, Decor came
to kiss her.

Back out in the water with the dolphins the next day these
people had a new approach. Instead of chasing they formed a
circle with each other and began to sing. The dolphins greeted
us within seconds of our departure from land. This is very rare.
Bliss fountained through and around us.

In sum, learning what the dolphins can share is very simple. It
requires a willingness to be present in your own heart. From
there, all kinds of wonderful experiences and spiritual
awakening can happen.

Apart from the chat rooms, instant messengers and electronic
mails created for communication and dialogue beyond turf are the
emerging innovations that help man build opportunities for
interaction. The need for a personalized and human face aspect
of building online communities is slowly changing the
technological landscape of the Internet.

Blogs / “weblogs” or blogging are the newest gift of Internet
technology to people all over the world. These are updated
posts, crop up entries or personalized life snippets, of mundane
or bizarre in nature. For most, a “blog” is a personal,
unedited, and authentic journal meant to be shared in an online
community. Blog site is a place where bloggers can publish
anything; his thoughts, feelings, photos, special events,
experiences, comments on issues and so on. It is more of an
online diary with videos, links, documents, newsletters and
opinions on just about any topics you are interested.

Blogs are made to welcome the insights and opinions of all and
therefore, should not be written to sound intimidating and too
formal. This kind of blog is a sure way to put off the readers.
In the basics of blogging, conversational tone would be more
appropriate to reach the desired audience.

Blogging is all about individuals reaching out to other
individuals. Having a blog has its own set of advantages: ?
Freedom of Expression. If you want people to hear you out and
give their own opinion, this is the best way to create a line of
communication; ? Networking is at its best. Having a blog is a
good platform for exchanging genuine ideas from consumers to you
as marketer of a certain product. Sound opinion and point of
view is better than just showing the price quote; ? Excellent
advertising platform. Blogging is a new way to advertise
products, a refreshing change from the traditional advertising
outlets and it is cost-effective. ? Gauging public opinion on
products and services. The key is nice and catchy titles with
new ideas presented in your content. This is an assurance of
quick and repeated responses from your readers. Blogs is an
excellent spot for the exchange of ideas between the seller and
the consumer. Good for measuring public opinion regarding
services and products, even political and business matters
alike. ? Useful tool for internal communication. This will help
your company to build a knowledge-based community of employees.
Also good for harnessing employee relations and identifying
human resource issues in advance. ? Other benefits like search
engine optimization (SEO) will help your blogs to be seen often
by as many people as you wish. This is very good exposure for
your products and services.

Many blog hosting services are available on the Internet. But
the basic question is which one of the services will be the best
to start off your business blog program? Business people are
usually clueless to recent technological innovations which would
help them maximize their marketing potentials. For these
beginners, it is best to study first the services offered by
blog hosts. An ineffective business blogging program may damage
marketing opportunities instead of enriching them.

A company may decide to do the following depending on its

product exposure. Through this service, consumers can get back
to you for more posts and updates without the difficulty of
locating you. If your blog is popular in a specific online
community chances are links going back to your blog site are
everywhere online, other blog sites or even websites. CATEGORIES
AND TAGS. These both help in classifying blog searches for ease
of navigation and on site search. Categories act as libraries
because it classifies posts by subject matter such as business,
distance learning, e-commerce, online auctions, etc. Tags, help
in the classification, especially in the blog search engine
Technorati. Possible customers and new clients locate blogs
about certain topics of interest by just clicking the tags. RSS
FEED. Really Simple Syndication is the feed from your blog that
is sent out over the internet, and collected through the various
newsreaders and aggregators.

If your company is to establish a business blogging program,
considerable options should be made available by the hosting
companies shortlisted for the services. Free blog hosting
services are popular but they are much appropriate for
individual online journals. Paid blog hosting services offer
unlimited packages best for your company’s needs. You may want
to suggest checking out some blogs that use the host first, read
and examine their layout and design. Another important thing to
consider is a reliable technical support the host has.

After, choosing the blog host, a team should be ready to plan
the design and structure of the blog: The team should: ? create
a style that meets the needs of the audience; ? establish an
open, credible tone; ? schedule weekly updating of blog -
ideally, a few times a week; ? include weblinks of other website
and blogs; ? blog post should be in the “first person;” ? focus
on the business blog objective; and, ? maintain an honest,
engaging conversational quality.

Remember, whatever the look, style and content found on your
blog is a reflection of you and your company.
